Done-for-you back office for the trades

Built for the trades.

Stay in the field.

We’ll handle the office.

You’re great at your trade. But estimates, scheduling, invoices, follow-ups, and customer calls don’t complete themselves. Fieldline handles the business behind the work so you can stay focused on the work itself.

You didn’t start this business to become an office manager. Let us handle the calls, the paperwork, and the marketing — so you can get back to the work you’re actually good at.

The real problem

Three moments where every project breaks down.

It’s almost never the work itself. It’s the communication, the follow-through, and the infrastructure around it — before, during, and after.

Before

The job lost before it starts

Contractors who respond in 5 minutes are 100× more likely to reach a lead than those who wait 30. The average contractor takes 47 hours to respond. By then, the job is gone.

78% of customers hire the first business to respond, not the best one
A quote requested Monday, sent eleven days later — the job was already given away
48% of contractors never follow up after sending a quote, even though most sales need 5+ touches
During

Where the relationship breaks down

Poor communication costs the construction industry $177 billion a year. On your job, it shows up as a scope dispute nobody wrote down, a daily update that never came, an RFI that sat for 10 days.

Client texts, waits 48 hours, gets back “yep” — the anxiety turns into tension, and the referral quietly disappears
Scope changes on site with nothing written down — then becomes a dispute at invoice time
The average RFI sits unanswered for 9.7 days, and 22% are never answered at all
Great work, exhausting experience — the client doesn’t refer you, and doesn’t come back
After

The relationship that evaporates

91% of homeowners read Google reviews before hiring, and 70% will leave one if you ask. Most contractors drive away without asking. Six months later, the client can’t remember your name — and the competitor with 90 Google reviews gets the next call.

Only 9% of contractors ask for a Google review after every job
A single, well-timed Google review request lifts the response rate to 68%
Every Google review you don’t ask for is a compounding loss — reputation is inventory
The competitor with half the skill and a system that asks after every job wins the next call
The fourth gap

The first three gaps cover the job itself. This is the fourth gap: before the job even exists.

A couple leans over house plans and blueprints spread across a kitchen table, pointing at the renovation they want to build. Before the job exists
Chapter 0404

The work nobody sees you missing

A homeowner searches “contractor near me” an average of eleven times before they call anyone. If you’re not on page one, you were never in the running — the job was lost before your phone had a chance to ring.

  • 87% of homeowners research a contractor online before they pick up the phone
  • Businesses with 10+ published pages get 55% more site visits than those with fewer than 5
  • The average trades website hasn’t been touched in over two years — and Google notices
  • A slow-loading site loses more than half its visitors in the first three seconds

This is where Digital Presence comes in — so the next homeowner searching finds you first.

The real comparison

What it costs to build this team any other way.

Most $500K–$5M trades companies need all of this. None of them can afford to hire for it.

Our story

More than 20 years in the trades.

Tim, founder of Fieldline

Tim Fraim

Founder, Fieldline

I’ve spent more than 20 years in construction.

As a general contractor, I’ve worked alongside some of the best electricians, plumbers, painters, framers, and carpenters you’ll ever meet. They take incredible pride in their craft. They’re the first to arrive, the last to leave, and the reason great projects get built. But I’ve watched too many of them lose their evenings and weekends trying to keep up with the business behind the work.

Calls answered from the truck. Estimates sent after dinner. Invoices that never go out. Referrals forgotten. Not because they aren’t great at what they do, but because they’re trying to run a business between job sites.

I started Fieldline because I knew there had to be a better way.

The first contractor I helped was a fourth-generation carpenter with a two-year waitlist. He didn’t need another software subscription. He needed someone to handle the work behind the work.

So I built him a back office.

Real people answering phones, following up on estimates, sending invoices, scheduling jobs, and keeping his business moving while he stayed focused on the field.

Today, that’s Fieldline.

We help contractors build stronger businesses without sacrificing the life they’re working so hard to build.

In their own words.

★★★★★

“I missed a call on a roof. The system texted them back, they replied, and by the time I climbed down it was a scheduled walkthrough. $9,000 job I would have lost.”

Mike R. — Roofing

★★★★★

“I used to build every estimate at night. Now I talk it on the drive home and it’s done before I pull in. I don’t know how I did it the other way for 15 years.”

James G. — Painting

★★★★★

“The operating manual changed how I run my crews. New guys know what’s expected on day one. I don’t have to be on every job to make sure things get done right.”

Frequently asked

Questions contractors ask before booking.

What does Fieldline actually do for a trades business?
Fieldline runs the back office for contractors and trades businesses: answering leads, following up on estimates, keeping jobsite communication tight, generating Google reviews, and handling the day-to-day admin work that eats a crew’s week.
Who is Fieldline built for?
Owner-operators and small crews in trades and construction — remodelers, plumbers, electricians, HVAC, roofers, general contractors — who are losing jobs to slow response times or losing evenings and weekends to paperwork.
Does Fieldline make live phone calls for me?
No. Every service is delivered digitally — text, email, review invites, follow-up sequences, and admin work. Fieldline never makes live phone calls on your behalf.
How fast will leads get a response after Fieldline is set up?
Inbound leads and missed calls get an automated response within seconds, followed by structured follow-up until they book, decline, or go quiet. That first-touch speed is what closes the gap between winning and losing a job.
How much does Fieldline cost?
Baseline starts at $450/month. Digital Presence is $650/month. Full Field is $1,200/month. Pricing is flat monthly — no per-lead or per-user fees.
How long does it take to get set up?
Most contractors are live within a week of the audit call. The audit itself is free and takes about 30 minutes.
What happens on the audit call

30 minutes. No sales pitch. You keep the findings either way.

01

We look at how inbound leads and missed calls are handled today — and how long a homeowner waits before hearing back.

02

We check your Google presence: reviews, response rate, and whether you show up when someone searches “contractor near me.”

03

You get a plain-English list of what’s costing you jobs and what fixing it looks like. No slide deck, no pressure to buy.

Don’t wait another week

Every day you wait is another lead going to voicemail.

And another homeowner finding your competitor online first. Book a free 30-minute audit and we’ll show you exactly where you’re losing jobs and money — and what fixing it looks like.
